My introduction to yoga began at 16 with two videos and a mat from Costco. I was intrigued by this unfamiliar exercise, and the promise of greater flexibility and strength. I continued an on-again off-again yoga relationship for many years. About 10 years ago I revisited yoga with other goals in mind: relaxation and self-care. With regular practice, I started experiencing all kinds of benefits (including many unexpected ones). This led to my own deeper inquiry of yoga. In 2018, I completed my 200 Hour Teacher Training with South Okanagan Yoga Academy (SOYA) and registered with Yoga Alliance. In 2020, I've continued my education, becoming a certified Gravity Yoga® teacher and a Yin Yoga teacher.
As for my non-yoga background, I help run Hunniford Gardens and my landscaping business, Gardenfreak Flowerbed Design. In summer you'll find me gardening or hanging out with my dog pack. In winter, I enjoy travelling, long walks, reading and other creative pursuits. |
